Our claim for online counselling

Online counselling is an offer of the Caritas Salzburg social counselling service. We support people in social emergencies on their way out of the crisis. For example, we provide advice on legal issues, unemployment or financial or personal emergencies. We strive to help as quickly as possible. We only provide counselling online - via secure mail counselling, chat and video chat. For face-to-face counselling, we can refer you if necessary.

In times when almost everyone has a telephone, a cell phone or email access, this new form of social counseling offers an easily accessible, long-distance possibility to show people a way out of an acute emergency situation and to support them in doing so.
Online counseling represents a progressive and modern-oriented addition to the counseling services offered by Caritas Salzburg. The low-threshold nature of the counseling in terms of anonymity, flexibility and discretion represents a special added value for our clients.
We are constantly striving to provide you with the best possible advice and support in challenging life situations.

For many people in the country, traditional social legal counselling, including going to an office in person, is difficult or impossible to access in terms of location/time. Online counselling offers various possibilities to ask for information and help wherever and whenever. It can bring help to places where it was previously unavailable.

Online counseling enables those seeking advice and counselors to interact via the so-called new media. It is thus a reflection of a communication culture that is already firmly anchored in our everyday lives. Although counseling in the social sector often still seems rather unusual, its advantages are obvious to me: Virtual counseling can take place regardless of time and place. It thus creates low-threshold access to information for people who do not want to or cannot attend a personal consultation.
